Frozen Banana Ice-Cream!
I have been trying to promote healthy eating in my family for a while now. Both my husband and I are conscious of the importance of good nutrition and want to teach our kids to be the same.
However we both have a sweet tooth and our kids well …. they love sweet foods too!
So I try my darndest to find recipes that are simple and sweet but are also low in sugar!
And this one is totally guilt FREE! And oh so good! Add it to your meal planner today!
Tastes just like your favourite CREAMY BANANA ICE-CREAM but without the side of guilt!
No ice-cream maker, dairy products, sweeteners or even any other ingredients needed! All you need, is a food processor and the magic ingredient ………..
BANANA!

Sweet TREATS go down well in our house. But this one seriously topped the cake with my kids. And my husband too.
And well of course …ME!
You wont believe how easy it is to make. All you need to do, is throw frozen bananas into a food processor and whip them! And they magically whirl into a beautiful soft consistency just like regular ICE-CREAM!
And seriously, you don’t even need to add anything to them because they taste so good. However, you can experiment and add other ingredients to change the flavour!
Getting it done is EASY & YUM!
Ingredients
- 5 Ripened Bananas
Method:

Step 1
Peel the ripe bananas and cut away any brown spots.

Step 2
Cut the bananas into smaller pieces and put them in an airtight container.

Step 3
Put the bananas into the freezer for at least 2 hours (Or until frozen).

Step 4
Put the frozen banana pieces into a food processor and blitz. They will look crumbly at first, however be patient and after a while you will notice that they will whip into a creamy consistency- just like ice-cream.

Step 5
If you prefer a soft-serve consistency then serve the ice-cream right away. However, you can put the whipped bananas back into an airtight container and put into the freezer for a more traditional consistency.
Experiment and customise with different flavours!
Enjoy this ice-cream by itself or experiment with these simple ingredients!
- 1 tbs Peanut Butter
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tbs Honey
- 1 tbs cocoa powder
- Chocolate chips
- Nutella
- Frozen fruits or berries
- Milk, almond milk, coconut milk

You can make a whole batch of this ice-cream and keep it in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months! And always have a healthy sweet snack ready to eat when you get that sweet craving! So good, your kids will love it too!
